The Hotel Association of Peru has organized the first International Food Festival to be held next week in Lima.

Seven of Lima's five-star hotels are participating, along with various restaurants. Each hotel will hold a festival of one specialty international cuisine. The Hotel Association hopes to have a national version of this event in October.

The participating hotels, and the cuisine in which they'll specialize, are:

Wait a minute, no Peruvian food in a Lima food festival? ... I thought this event was all about promoting our cusine. Anyways, I can't wait to see your reports on this event.

It took me by surprise at first too, until I figured out that by 'international' they meant food other than Peruvian...the Hotel Association wants to promote Lima as a culinary center and demonstrate that aside from great Peruvian food, there are also other types of cuisines available...
